Finding the best live dealer roulette casino doesn’t have to be hard. Here’s how I do it:
The first thing I do is make sure the casino offers live dealer games. Common sense, you’d think, but sometimes common sense isn’t common.
Then I check the casino for the following:
- Reputation – Can I trust this casino? Do others trust them? Do they have a rep for running fair games and paying their customers?
- Banking Options – Do they accept payment methods I want to use, at limits I’m willing to spend? Do they charge fees?
- Software – Do they have a download, instant play and/or mobile casino?
- Promotions – Do they offer any deals I can/want to claim? Do they offer any deals specifically for live dealer players?
This is in order of importance, too, from most to least important. If this stuff doesn’t check out, especially the first point, I’d (probably) pass on the casino. But it depends on specifically what I (don’t) find.

Yes.
A couple years ago live dealer options for US players was nearly non-existent. But nowadays it’s relatively easy to find a US casino with live dealer games.
Your biggest challenge at this point is finding a casino that offers more than just roulette – for example, roulette variants you want to play. Or, even unique live dealer games other than roulette.
Can you play from your mobile device?

Can you use betting strategies?

Can you cheat?
We don’t recommend trying.
That said, probably not. Most roulette cheating techniques require you to be physically present.
You could probably use the top hatting cheating strategy. This involves the dealer, where they’ll overlook sleight-of-hand techniques – which is impossible without you there – or who’ll actively place chips on numbers for you – which is also unlikely given how live dealer games work.
The bottom line – cheating will be all but impossible to do. And, even if you could pull it off, you’d have to have someone on the inside.
What’s different or unique about live dealer roulette?
Compared to regular (RNG) roulette, you get human interaction; a real person hosts and runs the game. In some cases, you can even make small talk with them. Not only that, but with some live dealer games you’ll be sitting next to a real person – sometimes that person will be present at the casino the game is streaming from.
Other than that, the (min/max) stakes are typically higher. And, you have some roulette variants not available for non-live games.
Compared to brick and mortar roulette, there are some differences, too. Live dealer games are a bit faster. You have access to bonuses and other promotions. And you have variants that B/M casinos probably won’t have.
Why play live dealer roulette?
I mentioned several differences above, all of which could be reasons to play. The game’s faster than RNG roulette, but slower than B/M casino roulette. You have more variants to choose from. You can play with real people without having to leave home. You also save a lot of money compared to traveling to a B/M casino.

How do I fund my account?

How do you play roulette?
Live dealer roulette is pretty much the same as regular roulette. So, instead of covering all the rules here – which will vary slightly from variant to variant – I’ll suggest you read our main roulette page for rules, history, and overall primer to playing the game.
How much can I bet per turn?
It depends on the casino. But LiveDealer.org has a table that says you can bet anywhere from .10 to $1 per spin, to as much as $50,000 per spin. You can see the table for yourself on their website.
Can I claim a welcome bonus?
Yes. But there are a few things you should keep in mind.
- Not every casino allows roulette players to claim a bonus.
- If you can claim a bonus, chances are the playthrough requirements are handicapped so that you have to wager 5-50x more than slots players do.
The reason why (to both of these points) is because roulette is an easy mark for bonus abusers. So, casinos will either prohibit it altogether, or they’ll tell you that you can’t bet on even/odd or red/black, and you have to wager x times more than slots players.

What other offers exist for live roulette players?
Live roulette players will have access to most, if not all of the same offers made available to regular roulette and other casino game players. The only exception is if roulette players are excluded in the terms/conditions.

Can you play live roulette for free?
At most casinos, no. I’d guess that only 5-10% of live casinos allow players to play for free. And the reason why is simple – there’s far more overhead to run a live roulette game compared to a regular game. Not only that, but usually there’s limited seating. Because of all this, it doesn’t make sense for the casino to offer free (live) games.
Can you watch other people play live dealer roulette?
Sometimes, yeah. I’ve never been inside every single live casino, so I couldn’t tell you which ones do and which ones don’t. But I’ve been to several that don’t let you play for free, but you can open the room and watch the action. The easiest way to know for sure is to create a free account.
Are there any downsides to playing live dealer roulette?
It depends on who you are, and why you might or might not play. But here are some differences that some people may view as downsides:
- The min. table stakes are often higher compared to regular (RNG) roulette.
- The games are a little slower compared to regular roulette.
- Dealers are often from different countries. So, it may be hard to understand them due to their accents.
But, like benefits, everyone’s reason for not playing live roulette will be different.
